Dean Chapman
Harold Dean Chapman, 81, of 11 Ballenger Ave., Inman, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at his home. Dean was born in Valley Falls on August 7, 1935, a son of the late Clarence Elmore and Jamie Olive Wyatt Chapman. He was the widower of Agnes Ilene Moore Chapman after 59 years of marriage; and was a retired electrician. He was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where he was a member of the Soul Searchers Sunday School Class; he was also a member and Past Master of Inman Masonic Lodge # 201, Hejaz Shrine, and 32nd degree Scottish Rite. Dean is survived by a son, Harold Chapman (Patricia) of Monterey, VA; a daughter, Ellen Brashears (Douglas), of Campobello; and son, Elton Chapman (Julie), of Wellford; two sisters, Cora Lee Whitfield, of Lake Bowen,; Vivian Calvert, of Inman; two brothers, Paul Chapman, of Lake Bowen; Rev. Everette Chapman, of Campobello; 6 grandchildren, Adrienne Barnwell (Travis), Krystal Stefanyk (John), Brittany Cartee (Landon), Tracy Chapman, Dustin Chapman, Kaleb Chapman, Leslie Gilbert and 3 great grandchildren; Kady Cartee, Kain Barnwell, Chandler Cartee; and a special friend, Gwen McAbee of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Rev Richard Chapman and Charles Chapman and two sisters; Ellen Hardin and Joyce Walls. The family is at the home and will receive friends Sunday 6:00- 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Inman Mills Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 10th, with Rev Jack Hames and Rev Everette Chapman officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
