David "Sonny" Wright

Inman, SC--- David "Sonny"Herman Wright, 75, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Golden Age of Inman. Born in Spartanburg County, on January 17, 1942, a son of the late Kathleen (Suttles) Wright and Coley Bliss Wright and was the husband of the late Liza Ellen (Stewart) Wright.

Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Army, worked as a commercial painter and was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and also attended Rock Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by five daughters, Charlene Hammitt (Chuck) of Inman, SC, Barbara Wilson (Jeff) of Wellford, SC, Tammy Smith (Randy) of Inman, SC, Rhonda McAbee (Lamar) of Inman, SC, Michelle Wright (Robert) of Spartanburg; one son, David R. Wright of Inman, SC; two sisters, Dorothy Lambert of Greenville, SC and Betty Page of Greenville, SC along with 12 grandchildren, Cynthia, Casey, Amanda, Tasha, Austin, Chasity, Nikki, Ashley, Vanity, Jordan, Alexander and Cara-Mia and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was also predeceased by one sister, Margie Wright Raines.

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Rhonda McAbee, 194 Skinner Rd., Inman, SC 29349 on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Campobello on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Flowers maybe sent to 194 Skinner Road, Inman, SC 29349 or donations made to: Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 East Wood Street, Inman, SC 29303.
