David Crockett Smith
David Crockett Smith, 49, of 2990 Bishop Rd. Inman passed away suddenly Friday, May 29th, 2009. Mr. Smith was born in Spartanburg, SC on June 8, 1959, the son of the late Josephine Pearl (Ragan) Smith. He was the husband of Joyce Ann (Tuttle) Smith and was a Methodist. He worked as a technician at Euro Sports in Spartanburg.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Tracy Baumgardner and her husband Jeremy of Port St. Lucie, Florida, three brothers, Jack Dempsey Smith, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Inman, Thomas Ragan and his wife Ann of Inman, James Smith and his wife Delette of Inman, S. C., two sisters, Nancy Canada and her husband Don of Columbia, S. C. and Lois Braddock also of Columbia, SC. His two Foster Mothers were Martha Gail Roper of Inman and the late Marian Young Smith. There are three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today, Sunday, May 31, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 AM Monday, June 1,2009 at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Daniel Blackwell and Rev. Steven Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. The family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice Compassus , 500 Jeff Davis Dr. Spartanburg, SC 29303.
