Inman, SC--- Horace David "Davie" Ballenger, Jr., 52, of 118 Woodland Ave. passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Born in Spartanburg, SC on July 10, 1960, he was the loving husband of Mrs. Melinda (Stevens) Ballenger having celebrated 27 years of marriage and was son of Mrs. Sylvia (Cook) and Horace David Ballenger, Sr. of Inman. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Jordan Ballenger and Sarah Ballenger of the home; a sister, Debbie Ballenger Austin and her husband Sam of Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Ballenger and Mr. and Mrs. James J. Cook, Sr. David was a member of Inman First Baptist Church and was employed by Village Greens Golf Club in Gramling, SC and was previously employed as co-owner of the family business, Ballenger's Produce in Inman. David loved to play golf and was an avid SC Gamecock Fan. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 1:00-3:00 PM in the Atrium of the Inman First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at Inman First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. Serving as Pallbearers will be Mike Hester, Charles Bradey, Phil Bradey, Jimmy Brown, Rich Rolen and Danny Johnson. Serving as Honorary Escorts will be his "Golf Buddies".
