David Arnold Allen, 71 of 290 Narrow Circle, Inman, SC, passed away May 24, 2016 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, S.C. David was born in Black Mountain, N.C. on January 21, 1945, a son of the late Mildred Phillips Allen and Blake Allen and was the husband of Susan Smith Allen. He was retired from Spartan Security Agency where he was assigned to BMW and was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church of Inman. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, serving on riot control in Panama and Turkey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters; Carolyn Morse of Taylorsville, NC, Susan Matlock of Conover, NC, a nephew; Mark Matlock from Virginia Beach, VA, and two nieces; Marsha Armstrong of Hickory, NC and Vicki Scronce of Connelly Springs, NC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 2740 Bishop Road, Inman, with Rev. Monty King officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family would like to thank the staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their love and care for Mr Allen.
