Mrs. Cynthia Louise Swofford, 56, of 145 Johnson Ave. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 16, 1956, she was the daughter of Mrs. Wanda (Featherstone) Swofford, of Fort Smith, Arkansas and the late Mr. Lewis Swofford and was the loving wife of Rev. Ronald Leonard. She graduated from Hendrix University in Conway, Arkansas and received her Master of Divinity from Duke University. She served in the South Carolina Annual Conference serving in various churches. She was a member of the Inman United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Leonard who is a student at Boston University and two sisters, Diane Issacs of Fort Smith Arkansas and Adair Slater of Van Buren, Arkansas. A celebration of her life service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Inman United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Inman United Methodist Church, "Food Pantry", PO Box 726, Inman, SC 29349 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Rd., PO Box 127, Landrum, SC 29356.
