Cynthia "Cindy" Messer

Cynthia Jo "Cindy" Messer, 58, of Poplar Creek Apts. passed away unexpectedly at her residence. Cindy was born in Spartanburg, SC on December 11, 1957, a daughter of the late Marion "Buck" Messer and Annie Lee "Gennie" Reaves Messer. She had retired from the food service industry and was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church. She is survived by three sisters, Marie Blackwell and her husband Lee, Judy Higgins, Debbie Bailey and her husband Dale all of Inman, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. She also loved her beloved schnauzer "Sassy" that she called her baby for over 17 years. Cindy is deeply missed by her loving sisters and family and will be for many years to come! In addition to her parents, Cindy was predeceased by her only son, William Edward Melton, two brothers, Jack Messer and Jerry "Suds" Messer and a very dear brother-in-law Joel Higgins. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Donnan Lawson with special music by Rev. Travis Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either: Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Inman Mills Baptist Church, 24 "B" St., Inman, SC 29349.
