Cynthia Caldwell Ellis

Cynthia Caldwell Ellis, 97, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at her residence.

Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on June 9, 1929, a daughter of the late Ruth (Hall) and George Caldwell and was the wife of the late Dan Charles Ellis.

She was a member of River Hills Baptist Church and was a longtime teacher of the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Parker along with five grandchildren, Hollie, Laura, Ryan, Melissa and Leigh and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by one son, Michael J. Ellis; one grandson, Daniel Michael Vaughn; one son-in-law, Richard E. Parker and one sister, Mattie Ruth Shump.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at River Hills Baptist Church in Moore, South Carolina with Rev. Kent Smith officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to River Hills Baptist Church, 5762 Reidville Road, South Carolina, SC 29369.
