Cynthia Kate Conn Champion, 76, of 209 Dogwood Circle, Inman, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at her home.
Cynthia was born in Grafton, West Virginia on May 21, 1946, a daughter of the late Helen Elizabeth Pugh Conn and John Thomas Conn. Following her parents' death, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Grace and Rembert Powell during her teenage years.
She was the wife of Clautus "Champ" Champion.
Cynthia retired from the accounting department at Spartanburg Community College.
She was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Freedom Sunday School Class and was active in the Shrine for over 47 years and the auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, Champ, Cynthia is survived by four sons, Clayton Thomas Champion, James Champion, David Champion (Beth) and Paul Champion (Donna), one daughter, Carol Buonopane (Charles); nine grandchildren, Meredith, Matthew, Megan, Holly, Noah, Mason, Gavin, Linley, Audrey, two great grandchildren, Alora and Abbigale, and a number of cousins who grew up with her.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 2:00PM at Inman Mills Baptist Church in Inman with Rev. Jack Hames and Rev. Travis Smith officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Inman Mills Baptist Church on Friday. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
