Creswell Broadus Harley

Creswell Broadus Harley, 74, of 105 Harvest Lane in Boiling Springs passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Creswell was born in Spartanburg on October 25, 1949, a son of the late Edna Elizabeth "Betty" Tinsley Harley and Broadus Furman Harley, Jr and was the husband of Sherry Steadman Harley of the home.

He retired from teaching school, most recently at Carver Jr High School in Spartanburg School District 7 and he was also a residential builder and built many houses alone and with his father. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg. He received his BS in Biology from Wofford College in 1972 where he was also active in his fraternity and later received his Masters In Education from Converse College. Creswell was a loving husband, father, and PAPA.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Whitfield Harley (Olivia) of Boiling Springs, a special daughter, Lauren Bobo Gabriel (Mark) of Boiling Springs, a sister, Elizabeth Bruce Harley Cromer and brother-in-law, Ben L. Cromer Jr, of Inman, and two grandchildren, Lilyian and Cooper Harley. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a nephew, Benjamin L. Cromer III. 

The family is at the home and will receive friends 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 20th at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman.
The family will have a private graveside service at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Inman. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 251 Hannon Rd., Inman, SC 29349.
