Major Cline Rhodes

Mr. Major Cline Rhodes, 80, of 109 Rhodes Lane died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Greenville, SC on November 24, 1929, the son of the late Darvin Vernon and Macie Leanna Gladden Rhodes. He was the husband of Frances Mason Rhodes.
Mr. Rhodes was a graduate of Wofford College and received a Masters Degree in Biology from the University of Georgia.
He was a retired biology teacher at Spartanburg High School with over thirty years of service. One of his other achievements was being awarded the South Carolina Biology Teacher of the Year.
He was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church in Inman, SC and served in the U.S. Navy as a Radioman 2nd Class during the Korean War.
Other survivors include two sons, Gregory B. Rhodes of Marietta, SC Anthony B. Rhodes of Daytona Beach, Florida, two sisters, Jeannette Donnahoo and Annette Everhart both of Inman, three grandchildren, Leanna Rhodes of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Franchesca Rhodes and Jasmine Turner both of Marietta, SC. He was predeceased by a brother Dusty Rhodes and a sister, Frances R. Brown.
A memorial service will be held at the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 4th, with Mr. Troy Bridges officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour before the service. Interment will be private.
The family is at the home.
