Mr. Clifford "Cliff" Dayton
Inman, SC---Mr. Clifford "Cliff" Roy Dayton, 67, of Inman passed away on Monday, April 20th, 2009 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Bridgeport, CT he was the husband of Kathleen M. Dayton having celebrated 30 years marriage and was the son of the late Earle Osbourne and Eleanor (Floberg) Dayton.
He was the co-owner of Town Line Body Shop in Monroe, CT from 1970 until 1992. In 1994 Cliff moved to Inman and was the maintenance manager at Spruce Pine Apts. in Landrum, SC until retiring in May 2008. He served in the National Guard in Texas as a missile handler and a dog trainer. Cliff always enjoyed his workouts at Inman Health and Fitness with the "morning gang".
In addition to his wife Kathleen, he is survived by four daughters, Dawn Elliott and her fiance', Jim McIntyre of Holly Springs, SC, Diane Parker and her husband Donnie of Inman, SC, Terri Scinto of Palm Coast, FL, Janice Lane of Meridan, CT; two sisters Evelyn Isaac and her husband Tom of Milford, CT and Joan Jenner and her husband John of Shelton, CT; twelve grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
The family is at the home of his daughter, Diane Parker and will receive friends Wednesday 3-4PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Seawright Funeral Chapel at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22nd, with Rev. Reggie Parker officiating.
