Cletus Wilson Champion, 80, of 211 Narrow Circle, Inman, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at his residence. Cletus was born in Spartanburg County on December 1, 1937, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Ruth Chapman Champion. He was the widower of Elizabeth Gilstrap Champion and retired as a painter. He was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where he was a member of Seekers of Souls Sunday School Class. Cletus is survived by two sons; Kevin Champion, of Inman; Todd Champion of the home; two sisters, Sara Babb, of Inman; Calantha Holcombe of Boiling Springs; a brother, Clautus "Champ" Champion (Cynthia) of Inman; brother-in-law, Timothy Gilstrap (Evelyn) of Spartanburg, two granddaughters, Tracy of Inman and Stacy of Dobson, NC and one grandson, Robert of Chesnee. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Inman Masonic Lodge #201 and was a member of the Hejaz Shrine. The family is at the home of his sister at 200 Gallman Road, Inman and will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM. at Seawright Funeral Home. Masonic Rites will be given at 5:30 PM Tuesday prior to the visitation. Funeral services will be held at Inman Mills Baptist Church at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 21st with Rev. Jack Hames officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery in Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277 or Inman Mills Baptist Church, 22 B St, Inman, SC 29349.
