Claude Hunnicut, Jr.
Claude "CJ" Hunnicutt, Jr., 84, of 462 Woodland Ave, Inman, SC, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at his home. He loved to write and share poetry and was known to family and friends as "Chief'. CJ was born in Spartanburg County, SC on January 13, 1930, a son of the late Claude and Ida (Cannon) Hunnicutt. He was the husband of Dorothy (Johnson) Hunnicutt having celebrated 58 years of marriage, retired from Southern Railway and was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church in Inman. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Kim Marlow (James), of Inman, one grandson, Caleb Marlow of Inman and one great granddaughter, Farrah Marlow of Inman. He was predeceased by a brother Jack Hunnicutt. He served in the U.S. Army. The family is at 118 Burnett Rd, Inman and will receive friends Monday from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Lake Bowen Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Lake Bowen Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Rev Mark Williams, Rev Roland Dry and Rev Gary Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or Mobile Meals, P0 Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
