Christine Rebecca "Betty" Shields Howell, 91, of 916 Wesley Court, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Wesley Court Assisted Living. Mrs. Howell was formerly of Inman, South Carolina. She was born in Shelby, North Carolina on January 25, 1930, a daughter of the late William Lionel Shields and Virgie Viola Strickland Shields. Christine was the widow of Odell Howell. She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Truth Chapel in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Mrs. Howell is survived by a daughter, Judy Howell Smith and her husband Wayne, of Arden, North Carolina; a son,Terry Howell and his wife Brenda, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina. Christine is also survived by six grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Julie Ard, Stephen Maddox, Scott Howell, Jeffrey Howell, Josh Howell; nineteen great- grandchildren and twelve great- great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Howell was predeceased by two sons, Ricky Howell, Steven Howell, a granddaughter, Natasha Burnette, two sisters, Osteen Biggerstaff and Imogene Burnette Robertson.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Greer, South Carolina, conducted by, Rev. David Biggs , Rev. Jonathan Morton and Rev. Terry Howell. The family will greet friends following the service at the the gravesite. The families are at their respective homes.
