Chattie Katherine Songer Hart, 87, formerly of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Friday August 31, 2012 at her home. Mrs Hart was the daughter of the late Clifford Moore Songer and Elizabeth Sebastian Songer. Mrs Hart was a devout Christian and member of Inman First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Cheerios and was a primary Sunday school teacher. She was devoted to her family and her walk with God. She enjoyed gardening, teaching Sunday School, playing the piano and painting. She had an enthusiasm for life and helping others. Her keen sense of humor was well known to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Mrs Hart was retired from a medical practice in Charleston where she served as office manager and medical transcriptionist. Chattie is survived by her husband of over 64 years, James M Hart, Sr., her son Jim Hart, Jr and wife Susie, daughter Mella Dee Griggs and husband Jim, son Steve Hart and wife Heather, son Kevin Hart and wife Jean, daughter Theresa Hart Perry and husband Jeff, twelve grandchildren, Charity League and husband Buddy, Nick Hart, Amber Hart, Adam Hart, Jamie Griggs, Sofia and Sebastian Hart, Josh, Matt and Hannah Hart, Addison and Abbi Perry, three great grandchildren, Cap, Aiden and Tanner League. The family is at the home and will receive friends in the atrium of Inman First Baptist Church Sunday, September 2, 2012 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM. Funeral services will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:30 PM conducted by Dr Paul Moore. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Inman First Baptist Church Building Fund, 14 N Howard St, Inman, SC 29349 or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
