Charlotte Mildred (Smith) Johnson, 86, resident of Dillon Point Assisted Living, . passed away Saturday, December 15th, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, SC .
Mrs. Johnson was born in Duncan, SC on February 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Walter and Bessie Gregory Smith. She was the widow of William Alfred Johnson, a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church and had retired from Spartan Mills.
She is survived by a son, William "Bill" D. Johnson and his wife Dateria of Inman, three daughters, Janice J. Burdette of Simpsonville, SC, Pamela J. Hammett and her husband Rick of Boiling Springs, SC, Ann Garner and her husband Richard of Johnson City, TN and a sister, Virginia Smith of Inman. There are eight grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters, Edna Dill, Irene Alexander and Dorothy Mallamo.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Cherokee Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bill Lark. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour before the service in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be made to: Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
