Charlotte Godfrey Hall

January 9, 1940-April 5, 2024

Spartanburg

In loving memory of Charlotte Godfrey Hall, whose fierce love and strength knew no bounds. She finished her earthly race and met Jesus face-to-face on April 5, 2024, in Woodruff, SC. She was born January 9, 1940, to the late David Ansel Godfrey and Athalene Moody Godfrey.

Charlotte was a woman of faith and was defined by her roles as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Charlotte lived her life to the fullest in a way to honor her daughter, Tracey Ann Williams, with whom she is now reunited.

Charlotte and her late husband Ted Hall were married for over fifty years and faithful members of Covenant Baptist Church where they made life-long connections with their faith family.

Charlotte put her all into everything she did. She managed the office at Kaiser Fertilizer Company and served at DSS for many years. She was also renowned as an antique expert. No matter what she did, she left a lasting impact on all those with whom she interacted.

Charlotte’s legacy of love and passion for life will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

May we honor her by not taking ourselves too seriously, finding opportunities to laugh everyday and enjoying chocolate ice-cream

Her grandaughter,  Emily Catherine Williams, and she were often referred to as “two peas in a pod” because their bond was unmatched, and their relationship brought her joy and purpose, especially after the passing of Tracey Ann.

Left to cherish her memory are her granddaughters Emily Catherine Williams, Woodruff, SC, Shelby Baird (Justin), of Longview, TX, son-in-law, Tracy Williams of Inman, SC, sister Catherine Clark, of Simpsonville, SC, brother, Albert Godfrey of Simpsonville, SC, many nieces and nephews, and her circle of friends that loved her like family: Susan, Joye, Taylor, Kay, and Misty. She is pre-deceased by her daughter Tracey Ann Williams, husband William Ted Hall and sister, Shirley Godfrey Batson.

To celebrate Charlotte’s life there will be a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on April 12, 2024 at 2pm. Visitation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Baptist Church in her honor.
