Charlie Crawford Green

Charlie Crawford Green, 94, of Boiling Springs, SC, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.  He is preceded in passing by his late wife, Christine Dover Green also of Boiling Springs, SC; five brothers: Erwin Green, Paul Green, Marshall Green, Samuel Green and David Green; one sister: Sarah Green, all of Spartanburg, SC. Charlie was born on April 13, 1928 to Horace and Minnie Green of Spartanburg, SC. “Papa” as he was known by most, was a retiree of Toledo Scale and an avid member in his church, First Baptist North Spartanburg.  He is survived by two siblings: Alice Green Lanford and Johnny Green of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters: Dianne Green Sappington (Robert Sappington) of Dallas, TX, as well as Patricia Green Armstrong (J. Q. Armstrong, III) of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren: Liza Sappington Howard (Alston Howard) of Castle Hills, TX, as well as J.Q. Armstrong, IV (Keri Armstrong), Katherine Armstrong Sorrel (Adam Sorrel) and Emily Armstrong Buckingham (Michael Buckingham), all of Greer, SC.  Charlie also had the fortune of meeting all four of his great-grandchildren: Ella and Callie Howard (daughters of Liza and Alston Howard), Eadie Armstrong (daughter of Jake and Keri Armstrong) as well Lucas Sorrel (Son of Katie and Adam Sorrel).  An intimate family graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 2:00pm at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev.
