Charles Darrow Ponds, 80, Campobello, SC, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home. Charles was born in Ethelsville, Alabama on July 1,1941. He was the son of the late Lucille Whitten Ponds. Charles is survived by his wife Betty Ponds, one son, Dewayne Ponds (Jill), one daughter Diann Hammett, and six grandchildren, Zachery Ponds, Pheriba Ponds, Connor Ponds, Jackson Ponds, Victoria Wiles, and Charlotte Hammett.
Charles was a retired veteran of the US Army serving in Special Forces.
Services with Military Rites will be held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
