Charles "Shorty" Pearson
Charles Melvin Pearson, 68, of 3 Howard Street, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Charles was born in Greenville, S.C. on December 19, 1945, a son of the late Mary Louise (Payne) Pearson and John Wilkins Pearson. Charles is survived by his companion, Linda Garrard, her son, Tracy Edmonds, her grandson, Tyler Edmonds, all of Simpsonville, SC, three brothers, Robert Pearson, of Spartanburg; Gerald Pearson, of Greenville and David Pearson, of Greer. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ann Pearson. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. The family is at the home of his brother, Robert at 24 Angler Dr, Spartanburg and will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be Monday, February 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM in M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery Anderson, SC. In addition to flowers memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
