Charles Joseph Fusco, of Spartanburg went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 11, 2009. Charles was a devoted member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Charles was also a World War II Veteran having served in the US Army 5th Infantry, 71st Division in the European Theater. He also dedicated forty years of service to the US Postal Service-Spartanburg Branch.
Charles was the foundation of a large and loving family. Surviving members of his family include his wife, Mary Cody Fusco; sons, Timothy and wife Amanda of Spartanburg, Daniel and wife Wendy of Weaverville, NC, Joseph stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, Tony and Jake of Spartanburg; daughters, Kelli McCall and husband Toby of Spartanburg, Margie Spitler and husband Robert of Hertford, NC, Anna Fusco of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Savanna, TJ, Chloe, Sawyer, Sophia, Abigail, Madelyn, Madison, Makayla, and Ethan. Also surviving are his sister, Rose DiToto of New Jersey and niece, Linda also of New Jersey.
Born in New York, New York, Charles was preceded in death by his father Peter, mother, Eleanor, and brothers, AJ, and Joe Fusco.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 15, at 3:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Monty King. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 4:00pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. The family will receive friends 2:30 until 3:00pm Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Southeastern Children's Home, 115 Children's Way, Duncan, SC 29334.
