Charles Richard Dover, 89, of 108 Stribling Circle, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Charles was born in Chesnee, SC on January 5, 1926, a son of the late James and Lillian (Splawn) Dover. He was the widower of Peggy (Parris) Dover and had retired as a truck driver with Budweiser. Charles is survived by a daughter, Susan Richey, of Moore; two sisters, Laylous High, of Spartanburg; Christine Greene, of Boiling Springs; two brothers, Benjamin Dover, of Spartanburg; Paul Dover, of Shelby, three grandchildren, Matthew Pruitt, Kyle DiOrio, Brook DiOrio and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Viola Brewer and a brother, Eugene Dover. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War and was a Mason. The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3rd, with Rev Gary Hensley officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
