Charles Edward Bagwell, 86, of 120 Morrow Lane, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Charles was born in Easley, South Carolina on July 14, 1934, a son of the late Eddie Bagwell and Vera Holiday Bagwell. He was the husband of Frances Marion Lark Bagwell. Mr. Bagwell was a graduate of Easley High School, a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a retired employee with Ryder Truck, a member of Fairforest Baptist Church, where he was a member of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class and served for decades as a trustee and a deacon. Mr. Bagwell was a lifelong supporter of high school sports, especially the Dorman Cavaliers and the Easley Green Wave.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Treasure B. Snyder and her husband, Daniel, of Moore, South Carolina; Melissa B. Morris and her husband, Glenn, of Inman, South Carolina; a son, Dr. Charles F. Bagwell and his wife, Ellen, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; three granddaughters, Callie B. Owens and her husband, Chris, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Whitney P. Guy and her husband, Jayson, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Jenna M. Worley and her husband, Austin, of Inman, South Carolina; two grandsons, Charlie F. Bagwell and his wife, Amy, of Greenville, South Carolina and Caleb A Morris of Inman, South Carolina. He is also survived by three great-granddaughters, Addie Phillips; Lee Bagwell; Ellie Owens; and three great-grandsons, Everett Owens; Charles Bagwell and James Worley; a sister, Tinker Patterson and her husband, Charles, of Easley, South Carolina; and a brother, Eugene Bagwell and his wife, Jo, of Norfolk, Virginia.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bagwell was predeceased by two sisters, Evelina Underwood and Oleda Downing.
A memorial service will be held, at 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Fairforest Baptist Church, conducted by, Rev. Jimmy Hilton. Visitation will follow the service in the church social hall.
