Charlene Rene Hammitt, 53, of 340 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, formerly of 170 Gaines Drive in Inman passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Charlene was born in Spartanburg on July 15, 1964, a daughter of the late David Herman and Liza Ellen Stewart Wright. She was the wife of Walter Charles "Chuck" Hammitt, Jr. She was a homemaker and had attended Ingleside Baptist Church in Landrum. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters; Casey Hammitt and Cynthia Hammitt, both of Inman; four sisters; Barbara Wilson (Jeff) of Wellford, Rhonda McAbee (Lamar) of Inman, Tammy Smith (Pastor Randy Smith) of Inman, Michelle Wright (Robert) of Spartanburg, a bother; David Wright of Inman, two grandsons; Tommy Nolen and Eric Hammitt, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2:00 until 4:00 Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 795 Lyman Road, Inman, SC. Burial will be in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, any memorials may be made to the family or mailed to PO Box 1012 Inman, SC 29349.
