Inman
Robert Cecil Marin, age 90 passed away Saturday night at Rose Crest. He is the husband of Georgia Culbreth Martin and the son of the late Albert and Lela Martin.
Cecil was an active member of Inman Mills Baptist Church having served as deacon, deacon chairman, teacher of the Men's Bible Class, former R.A. leader, church treasurer for 23 years and worked on numerous committees. He was a charter member of the Inman Lion's Club where he was past president and past zone chairman. He served on the Spartanburg County Board of Assessment Control and the Salvation Army Advisory Council. Cecil retired from Inman Mills as Corporate Controller.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Dr. Bob Martin and wife Kate of Cedar Falls, Iowa and one grandson, Andrew Martin of Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He was predeceased by one sister, Lethal Davis and one brother Ray Martin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7 at 11:00am at Inman Mills Baptist Church. Reverend Jack Hames will be in charge of the services. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the church sanctuary on Thursday.
The Martin Boone Sunday School Class and members of the Inman Lion's Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
