Cecil E. Ballew

Cecil Edwin Ballew, 88, of 12 C Street, passed away at his residence Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
Cecil was born in Inman, South Carolina, on November 13, 1929 and was the son of the late Onie Ballew. He was the loving husband of Betty Allison Ballew and had celebrated over 64 years of marriage. Cecil was a longtime member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the sanctuary choir, a Sunday School teacher, former deacon and a former RA Leader. He was a member of the Inman Masonic Lodge #201, where he had served as past worshipful master. Cecil was also a past Boy Scout Master of Troup # 26. He had retired from Inman Mills and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Surviving in addition to his wife Betty are two sons, Chris Ballew and his wife, Vonda of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Todd Ballew and his wife, Melanie of Campobello, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jessica, Cecillia, Evangelina, Nathaniel, Nikki and Miranda. Cecil is survived by two great-grandchildren, Abbie and Casey.
In addition to his mother, Cecil was predeceased by a son, Craig Ballew.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Holston Creek Baptist Church, conducted by, Dr. Reggie Parker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the residence.
