Catherine Mae Brady Downey, 89, of 120 Downey Road, Inman, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at her residence. 
Catherine was born in Spartanburg on May 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Mary Abigail Seay Brady and Howard Nathan Brady.
She was the widow of Henry William Downey, was a homemaker and was the oldest member and charter member of Westgate Baptist Church in Spartanburg.
Catherine is  survived by four daughters, Brenda Cannon, of Inman; Kay Freeman (John), of Spartanburg; Joanne Houghton (Bob), of Campobello; Cheryl Rogers, of Inman; a son, Dale Downey (Cathy), of Inman; a brother, Harry C Brady, Sr. (Peggy), of Gramling, grandchildren, Kenny Cannon, Jr (Dez) Amy Swope (Ray), Marile Baker, Marie Johnson (Tony), Tara Gunter (Manie), Heather Houghton (Pablo), Heidi Anderson (Jori), Cody Downey (Alexis), 18 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a grandson, Brian Rogers, brothers, William and J.D. Brady, sister, Inez Fisher and daughter-in-law, Sharon Downey.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday May 16, 2023 at Westgate Baptist Church in Spartanburg .
Private burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens in Wellford, SC. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westgate Baptist Church, 1990 Old Reidville Road, Spartanburg, S.C. 29301.
