Mrs. Cassie Lucille Broome Rippy, 89, of 5061 New Cut Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Born in Inman, SC on March 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ira William and Nannie Myrtle (Ballenger) Broome and was the wife of the late Mr. Harold Rippy. She was a member of Gramling United Methodist Church and retired from Inman Mill after 50 years of loyal service. Mrs. Rippy is survived by her loving cousin, caregiver and loyal friend, Patricia Wyatt and her husband Buck of Inman, a sister-in-law, Violet Broome of Campobello and one nephew, Tommy Broome, Jr. and his wife Leanne and many great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by four brothers, Ira, Ben, Stewart, and Carl Broome, one sister-in-law, Margaret Broome and one nephew, Stewart Broome, Jr. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 10-11AM in the Sanctuary at Gramling United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held in the Gramling United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11 :OOAm immediately following the visitation with Rev. Ben Herlong officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Maxie Ballenger, Buck Wyatt, Steve Foster, Todd Parris and Tommy Harris.
