Carroll Fred Wolfe, Sr, 78, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Alabama. Born in Spartanburg, SC on March 20, 1939 he was the son of the late Fred Valentine and Jeanette (Hayes) Wolfe and was the loving husband of the late Bobbie Carolyn (Willard) Wolfe.
Carroll retired as truck driver from Roadway Trucking and was a faithful member of First Baptist North Spartanburg where he was serving as a deacon. He was a former Sunday School teacher and the organizer of the Wild Game Dinners. He was also a founding member of the North Spartanburg Fire Department and was currently serving on the North Spartanburg Fire Department Board of Commissioners and formerly served as president of the Spartanburg County Rescue Squad Association.
He is survived by a son, Carroll Fred Wolfe, Jr. and his wife Sarah, two grandsons, Christopher Wolfe and his wife Brittany and Alexander Henderson, one granddaughter, Morgan Church and her husband Austin, six great-grandchildren, Zander Wolfe, Timmy Wolfe, Corey Wolfe, Olivia "Jenny" Church, William Church and Gunner Wolfe. He was predeceased by his two precious daughters, Melissa Wolfe Henderson and Jenny Wolfe along with two sisters, Mary Wolfe Cantrell and Elizabeth Greene Lister.
The family received friends Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at First Baptist North Spartanburg. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist North Spartanburg conducted by Dr. Michael Hamlet.
Serving as pallbearers were Alexander Henderson, Christopher Wolfe, Austin Church, Phil Hardee, Donnie Kern, Andy Stronge, Trent Hardee and Steve Hale. Serving as Honorary Escort was the North Spartanburg Fire Department, B. A. Collins, Jim Roddy, and Johnny Prince. Burial was in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3535 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
