Carroll W. Penland, age 91, died on Thursday, October 15,2015 at Valley Falls Terrace, a caring and loving facility, in Spartanburg. He was the son of James L. and Ethel Hames Penland, born on March 27, 1924, in Inman, South Carolina. He retired as an accomplished auto body mechanic. He served his country with distinction as a private in the US Army branch of the Selectees during World War II. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Beulah, daughter, Nancy and son, David. Remarried to Margaret Ponnese McCraw Penland in 1993. He is survived by his grandchildren, Noelle Logan, Nicole Marquis, Corrie Penland, DJ Penland and Tara Green and great-grandchildren, Danielle and Thomas Logan, Ashley and Alex Marquis, Brytney Melgar, Dyllin and Ava Green, Nicholas and Ruby Penland, and Frances C. Huffman, sister-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on October 21,2015 at the Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev Ed Stallworth. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
