Carroll Dupree Bishop

Carroll Dupree Bishop,79, of 3621 New Cut Rd. died Monday, July 14th, 2008 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Bishop was born in Inman, S.C. on May 13, 1929, the son of the late Dillard Young and Eula (Horton) Bishop was the widower of Betty Lou (Parks) Bishop. He had retired from the Spartanburg Herald and was a U. S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Inman Masonic Lodge #201, Past President of the Mid City Shrine Club, Captain of the Hejaz Road Runner Unit, Potentate Aid, a member of the Hejaz Hillbilly Clan #2 and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne B. Case of Inman and Linda S. Bishop of Charlotte, N. C., a brother, Jesse Bishop and his wife Willie and a sister Joyce Anne DeWeese and her husband Ray all of Inman, a grandson Anthony W. Case and his wife Emily, a granddaughter Samantha Case, and a great grandson, Mason Case. Also surviving are special friends, Annie Ruth White and Dennis Browne.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 P. M. with Rev. Donnan Lawson officiating. Interment will in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Thursday one hour before the service at Seawright Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 Faris Rd. Greenville, SC 29605-4277 in Honor of the Hejaz Road Runner Unit.
