Carolyn King Hammond Lawter, 62, of 1380 Casey Creek Road, Chesnee, SC, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Carolyn was born in Spartanburg, SC on April 21, 1951, a daughter of Mae (Peace) King and Arnold Talmadge King, of Spartanburg and was the wife of Gary Dale Lawter. She worked as a legal secretary and court reporter in Spartanburg and attended Casey Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents Carolyn is survived by a daughter, Melissa Suddeth, of Spartanburg; a son, Michael Hammond, of Greenville, SC; a sister, Linda Gosnell, of Simpsonville; two brothers, Steve King, of Batesburg, SC; Stan King, of Union, SC and 2 grandchildren Kayla and Jenna Suddeth. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 1:00 — 2:00 PM at Casey Creek Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow in the church at 2:00 PM conducted by Dr Jerry White and Rev Harold King.
