Calvin Edgar Thomas, 85, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at Magnolia Manor of Inman. Calvin was born in Woodruff, South Carolina on December 15, 1932, a son of the late Edgar Harvey Thomas and Roxie Cora Lee Price Thomas. He was the widower of Sybil Atkins Thomas. Mr. Thomas was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a former minister at Faith Baptist Church in Rincon, Georgia, a retired manager at Quick As A Wink dry cleaners and a member of North Spartanburg Baptist Church.
Calvin is survived by a daughter, Laura Thomas Outler and her husband, Hugh of Newington, Georgia; a son, Stanley Thomas, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Lane Outler and his wife, Laura, Brooke Outler, Dylan Thomas, Morgan Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Chase Lee, Gavin Outler, Landon Outler and Elise Richardson.
In addition to his parents and spouse, Mr. Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Albert Thomas.
A graveside service will be held at at Sunset Memorial Park at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 22, 2018, conducted by Rev. Rupert Guest. Visitation will immediately follow the service at the gravesite.
