Brennan Charles Wilson Johnson passed away in his home on November 28, 2016 following an extended illness. He was 37.
Brennan was born on February 21, 1979 to Doris and Michael Johnson of Lyman, SC. He was a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. Brennan was a spiritual person and longtime member of the Upstate Friends Quaker Meeting. He served as the Recording Clerk for the Upstate Friends. Before his health deteriorated, Brennan was a Friendly Adult Presence for the Quaker Youth and volunteered in many local elections.
Brennan was a loving friend who never missed an opportunity to help others. He was an avid gamer and spent many hours with a close-knit group of friends.
Brennan is survived by his mother and father, Michael and Doris Johnson of Lyman, SC, a sister and brother-in-law, Miranda and Michael Clark of Purcellville, VA, a brother and sister-in-law, Tally and Rachel Johnson of Chester, SC, and his maternal grandfather, Carl Wilson, Jr. of Lyman, SC. Brennan remained a deeply compassionate person, despite his own unmitigated suffering. He was beloved by his family and many friends. His quick wit, brilliant mind, unique perspective, and his unending ability to make you laugh will endure in our hearts and memories.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 2nd from 2-3pm at the Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. Funeral services for Brennan will follow at 3pm with a Friends Meeting to follow in the fellowship hall of the Central United Methodist Church in Spartanburg, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you make a donation in Brennan's name to the Quaker House of Fayetteville, NC.
