Boyce Lee Brannon

February 15, 1943 — November 25, 2010

Inman, SC---Boyce Lee (Cabbage) Brannon, 67, loving husband and daddy and friend to all went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2010 after a battle with lung cancer. He was the son of the late Ernest and Ruth Brannon of Columbus, NC.

He worked at Inman Oil Company and retired from Milliken & Company after 22 years to care for his wife. He retired from the South Carolina National Guard having served at the Inman Armory for 34 years. He was an avid member of the Inman Mills Bowling League and a past member of the Inman Lion's Club. He was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he served in the choir, was on the board and was a member of the United Methodist Men's Club, where he was chosen Man of the Year.

He was married for 49 years to his best friend, Nadean Henson Brannon. He had three children: Rickie (Donna) Brannon of Charleston, SC, Tammy Brannon Rudasill of Cowpens, SC, Terry (Rita) Brannon of Inman, SC. He had ten grandchildren, Bryce (Crystal) Rudasill, Caroline Brannon, Lauren Rudasill Bowyer, Jessica (Justin) Keith, Clayton Brannon, Terra Brannon, Meredith Rudasill, Ashley Brannon and Brandon Hendrix. Four great-grandchildren also survive him: Bryce Jr. and Abigail Rudasill and Carson and Cameron Bowyer. He also had one grandson waiting in Heaven, Tyler Lee Brannon.

Boyce had eleven sisters and seven brothers. Surviving is: Lois (Dick) Lawson, Dorothy Dowdy, Steve Brannon, and Cleo Holland.

His extended family of special friends that were so close to his heart were: Lewis Henderson, John Messer, Britt Rudasill, Donnie Caldwell, Sue and Ronnie Maxwell, Brandon Bell, Jesse Simpson, Robert Cartee, Margaret Taylor, Etrula Vickers and last but not least his dog, and companion Bear.

Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until 11:30AM on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Byrd and Rev. Bill Bynum officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Greer with Full Military Honors by the South Carolina State Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Lewis Henderson, Tommy Jordan, Ronnie Maxwell, Robert Cartee and Jimmy Ravan.

Honorary Escorts will be the UMM Club of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the 178th Field Artillery.
