Bobby Lee Henderson
Bobby Lee Henderson, 89, formerly of 111 Goforth St., passed away Monday, December 7th, 2015 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina. Mr. Henderson was born in Landrum, South Carolina on September 10, 1926, a son of the late Robert Lee and Ila Kelly Henderson. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Faye Tweed Henderson.
Mr. Henderson was a former employee with Crown, Cork and Seal and had retired from the John Dritz Corporation. He was a charter member of Covenant Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class. He was a United States Navy veteran of WW II, a shriner, mason and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and had hunted and fished since he was a child.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Gayle Russell and her husband Danny, Debra Hall and her husband James, one son, Robert W. Henderson and his wife Karen, six grandchildren: Rex Russell and wife Alane, Jay Russell and wife Reesa, Jim Hall and wife Nikki, Lea Bradley, Robert B. Henderson and Leslie Jester and husband David, fifteen great-grandchildren: Coleman and Anna Russell, Sophia and Olivia Russell, Jacob Henderson, Victoria, Gabby and Will Edwards, Logan, Alexia and Aiden Henderson, Bradley and Britt Nations, Kimber and Kullyn Hall; four great-great-grandchildren: Roman and River Nations and Aubrey and Farrah Nations; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Henderson was predeceased by three brothers: Wayne, John Earl and Bill Henderson; two sisters Margie Henderson and Cornelia Martin and one step great-grandson: Monty Cole Turnage.
Bob loved his Lord, his family, his church, friends and his beloved pets, Kipper and Trix.
A visitation will be held, Friday, December 11, 2015, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at Covenant Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 11, 2015, with Pastor Gary Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 126 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385.
The following will serve as active pallbearers: Tommy Cannon, Henry Cannon, Bradley O'Sullivan, Todd Chapman, Neal Beers and Ken Nance. The Senior Adult Men's Sunday School class will serve as Honorary Escort. The family will be at the home.
