Bobby Wayne Atkins, 71, of 8216 Robbs Ave, Spartanburg, SC, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Wayne was born in Spartanburg, SC on July 22, 1946, a son of the late Horace G and Florence (Justice) Atkins. He worked in sales and was of the Baptist faith. Wayne is survived by a sister, Dot Bozeman, of Brian, MO. and a brother, Charles Atkins, of Fingerville. He was predeceased by a brother and 5 sisters. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs with Rev Michael Owenby officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Rutherford Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the gravesite immediately following the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU staff of Mary Black Memorial Hospital and special friend Craig Shockley.
