Birdie Van Patton, 96, of Cowpens, passed away Saturday, July 18 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

She was born in Spartanburg on September 24, 1929, a daughter of the late Nannie Louise Gowan and Lee Thomas Vassey. She was the widow of Charles Van Patton.

Mrs. Van Patton was survived by three granddaughters Paula Koenig, Pamela Radford, and Rhonda Padilla; seven great grandchildren Skylar Wise, Brandon Wise, Matthew Fowler, Casey Shlyapkin, Jessica Padilla, Ronald Mccullough, Angela Radford; and five great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters Patricia Radford and Barbara Ann Thompson, and a granddaughter, Charlene Wise.

The family will receive friends 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Tuesday, July 28,2026 with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman. Burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens in Wellford.
