Billy Joe Amburn, 61, of 105 Hatchett Street Spartanburg, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Pike County Kentucky, he was a son of the late James W. and Virgie Bentley Amburn and was the husband of Pam Woodfin Amburn of the home. He was a US Marine Corp veteran, a member of Landrum Presbyterian Church, and was employed at International Recovery in Greer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; James Michael Amburn of Spartanburg, four daughters; Ashley Amburn of Greenville, Jamie Branch of Inman, Samantha Triplett of Williamson, W. Virginia, Jessica Ray of Florence, SC, one brother; Jerry L. Amburn of Greenville, two sisters; Violet A. Maynard of Wellford, Brenda J. Cox of Spartanburg, nine grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers; James M. Amburn, Thomas L. Amburn and one sister; Barbara G. Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Landrum Presbyterian Church, 404 E. Rutherford St., Landrum, SC conducted by Dr. Gene Lassiter. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday 3:00 until 4:00; one hour before the service.
