Betty Jean McAbee Edwards, 70, of 195 Old Barn Road in Campobello, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at her home, surrounded by friends and family.
Betty was born in Spartanburg on December 15, 1952, a daughter of the late Lois McCracken McAbee and William Edgar McAbee. She had retired from the jewelry department at Walmart.
Survivors include her son; David Hand (daughter in love Kim) of Boiling Springs, two sisters; Pat Dalton of Inman, Sandra Hawkins of Inman, two grandchildren; Ashley Kemmis (Andrew), Taylor Moore, two great-grandchildren; Arabelle Robertson and Ayden Moore. Betty also had two honorary daughters: Nicole Kipling (Brian) and Angela Harris (Clint). She also had two honorary grandsons: Brody and Colton Harris.
Betty was also predeceased by two brothers Rodger McCracken, James McAbee and a sister Carolyn Dill.
Betty was a woman whose love knew no bounds. She wanted everyone to know how much she loved her friends and family and how she always tried to be there for them. Betty was a great daughter, sister, and mother to her son. But the real apple of her eye was her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She loved them so much her face brightened up every time she saw then. She doted on them to no end. Betty loved so many people, and we're blessed beyond measure to have known her and loved her and felt her love. Now, we must keep her alive in our hearts and spirits as she watches over us all from her perch in Heaven.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Shiloh Memorial Cemetery in Inman with Rev. Larry McCullough officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends 2:00 until 3:00 PM Friday at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman prior to the service.
