Betty Jean Allison Ballew, 85, of 12 C Street Inman, SC passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the Waterford at Dillon Pointe, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Betty was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on February 23, 1933, a daughter of the late Floyd Ephrim Allison and Carrie Hammett Allison Bradley. She was the widow of Cecil Edwin Ballew. Mrs. Ballew was a retired sales manager with Luzier Cosmetics, a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church, where she formerly served as a G. A. leader, a choir member and a part of the church's bereavement committee. She also was a member of the church's Keen club and the Exercising Sharing club.
Betty is survived by two sons, Chris Ballew and his wife, Vonda, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; Todd Ballew, and his wife, Melanie, of Campobello, South Carolina; two sisters, Polly Hixson, of Tennessee; Francis "Chick" Johnson, and her husband, Bob, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two brothers, Mack Allison, and his wife, June, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Jimmy Allison and his wife, Jennie, of Campobello, South Carolina. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jessica, Cecillia, Evangelina, Nathaniel, Nikki and Miranda; two great-grandchildren, Abbie and Casey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ballew was predeceased by a son, Craig Ballew.
Visitation will be held at Holston Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 2:00 - 2:45 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM at Holston Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Reggie Parker and Rev. Paul Allison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L Anderson, SC 29621 or to Holston Creek Baptist Church, 311 Holston Creek Church Road, Inman, SC 29349. The families are at their respective Homes.
