Betty Davis Atkins

Betty Ruth Rhinehart Davis Atkins, 83, of 3710 Highway 357, Inman, SC, passed away Friday, October 24th, 2014 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, SC.
Mrs. Atkins was born in Spartanburg County on February 27, 1931, and was the daughter of the late William Hobert and Ila Marie Epton Rhinehart. She was the widow of F.A. Atkins and was first married to the late Carroll B. Davis.
Mrs. Atkins was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and the Forever Young Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina of Spartanburg and was a retired educator from Daniel Morgan Technical Center.
She is survived by two sons, Ben Davis and his wife Katy Murphy of Campobello, SC; Jeff Davis and his wife Mary, of Pendleton, SC; two brothers, Don Rhinehart, of Greensboro, NC, Grady Rhinehart and his wife Sandra of Inman, SC; a grandson, Andrew Davis of Seattle, Wa., two granddaughters, Mika Davis of Greenville, SC and Laura Davis of Mont Pellier, France. She is also survived by two step-sons, Tony Atkins and his wife Cathy of Lyman, SC, Steve Atkins and his wife Leigh of Inman, SC, one step-daughter, Karen Blackwell and her husband Buddy of Valley Falls, SC.and several step grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Annie.
She was predeceased by one great-grandson, Caden Davis, three brothers, Boyd, Ralph and George Rhinehart. and a step-son Keith Atkins.
Visitation will be held today Monday , October 27, 2014 from 10:30am until 11:45am at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow in the church at 12:00 noon with Dr. Tim Clark and Rev. Henry Stanford officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The Forever Young Sunday School Class is requested to serve as Honorary Escort .
