Mrs. Bessie Malinda Hollifield Blackwell, 90, of 63 Blackstock Road and formerly of Edwards Road, Inman died Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 at Magnolia Manor.

Mrs. Blackwell was born in Polk County, N.C. on May 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Squire and Lela Turner Gilbert.
She was the widow of Marion Blackwell and was first married to the late John W. Hollifield.
She had worked at Inman Mills and was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
Her survivors include, two sons, John J. Hollifield of Inman, Walter B. Hollifield of Charlotte, a daughter, Lois Ellen Wilson of Inman, a brother, Clarence Gilbert of Inman, a sister, Grace Ledbetter of Inman, three step-daughters, Mildred Skinner of Campobello, Doris Wilson of Campobello, Helen Burrell of Inman, a step-son, Glenn Blackwell of Cherokee Springs, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons, Wilford Lee Hollifield, James Russell Hollifield and Vernon Hollifield.

Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 3:00pm on Friday, February 25th, conducted by Rev. Michael Owenby, Rev. Frank Bryant and Mr. Danny Hollifield. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Friday 2:00-3:00 at Seawright Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jackson Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund 8931 Highway 11 Campobello, SC 29322.
