Benny James McMahan

Benny James McMahan, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Born in Sylva, North Carolina on January 13, 1947, he was a son of the late Zilla (Buchanan) McMahan and George Clyde McMahan.

He was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver for many years. 

He is survived by his companion, Gail Gowan: three sons, Jonathan Scott McMahan (Michelle), Christopher Todd McMahan (Missy), Benjamin James McMahan (Kacey); one daughter, Patricia Annette Bryson (Brian), one brother, Ted McMahan; two sisters, Virgie Guyer and Jan Lyerly, eleven grandchildren, Ashten, Chapin, Bailey, Madison, Lucy, Jamison, Kate, Lexi, Anderson, Brantley and Amelia and six great grandchildren, Blase, Shyla, Cameron, William, Xander and Augustus.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, R.L. McMahan and one sister, Georgie Austin. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2024 with Rev. Doug Godfrey officiating.   The family will recieve friends following the service at the funeral home.
