Benjamin "Ben " Murphy Christopher, 84, of 215 Wicklow Road, Campobello, SC, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum. Ben was born in Valdese, NC on August 4, 1935, a son of the late Kathleen (Bright) Christopher and George Murphy Christopher. He was the husband of Lillian "Lucy " (Cooper) Christopher and was first married to Patricia Christopher.
He was owner/operator of Roselawn Memorial Gardens and was a member of Inman United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Vicki McCutcheon and husband Tommy, of Inman; Sheri Emory, of Inman; Ericka Scaggs and husband Mark, of Lyman; three sons, Wallace "Wally" Christopher and wife Nancy of Virginia, Bryan Christopher and wife Annmarie of Mt Pleasant, SC, Daryl Clayton, of Inman; a sister, Marguerite Clarke and husband Joe, of Spartanburg; a brother, Jim Christopher and wife Ann, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Cryptside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 23rd at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC .
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 2151, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-2151.
