Beatrice Ellis Bond

Beatrice Ellis Bond, beloved wife of Leon D. Bond for 62 years went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 4, 2008.
Born on September 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George C. Ellis and the late Beatrice Burn Ellis of Charleston. As the daughter of a lighthouse keeper, Mrs. Bond often said her happiest days were on North Island, where she grew up with her four older brothers, and older sister. After marrying, she moved to Greensboro, NC, where she resided for 31 years. The last 9 years of her life were spent with her family in Inman. She was a devoted and cherished member of Living Water Community Church in Inman.
Mrs. Bond is survived by her husband, as well as her daughter, Beatrice L. Pifer and son-in-law, H. James Pifer of Pawleys Island, and her daughter, Nancy B. Smith and son-in-law, James H. Smith, Sr. of Inman; her brother-in-law, David W. Bond, and his wife, Gwen, of Summerville; her beloved grandson, James H. Smith, Jr., and his wife, Kathryn C. Smith, of Greer; her beloved granddaughter, Kathryn S. Jackson, and her husband, Stephen P. Jackson, of Inman; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Jackson and Hannah Smith. Of her five siblings, Mrs. Bond is only survived by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Taylor. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, May 7,2008, at 10 AM at Living Water Community Church in Inman. Pastor Frank Bryant will officiate.
