Barbara "Cris" Messer Williams, 74, of 118 Data Bush Drive, Inman, SC, passed away Sunday, August 26th, 2012 at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC. Cris was born in Inman, SC on March 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Jessie (Steppe) and William Joseph Messer.
She was the wife of Dennis Williams, retired from Phelps/Dodge and was a lifetime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Inman, SC. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Rusty(Trina), and Drew(Tammy), grandchildren, Jay, Samantha, Knox and Cannon Williams, sister, Nancy Dalton, brothers, John(Blanche) and Fred(Leota) Messer. She was predeceased by brothers, Marion "Buck" Messer, Douglas Messer, sisters, "Art" Pace, Ida Owens, "Billie" Emory and Muriel Blakely.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Wednesday 11:00 - 12:00 AM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 29th, with Rev Gary Byrd officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 690 Park Rd, Inman, SC 29349.
