Aretta Jones West

Aretta Jones West, 90, of 1291 Campton Rd. died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Camp Care after a long illness. Born in Ware Shoals, SC on January 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Rachal Lindsey Jones and was the wife of the late Mr. Wideman "Odell" West.
She was retired from Abbott Laboratory and was an active member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth O. West and his wife Nena of Lyman, SC; three daughters, Patricia Ann Mathis of Southaven, MS, Rita Dianne Morris and her husband Wayne of Inman, SC and Brenda Lee McManus and her husband Glen of Inman, SC; seven grandchildren, Brian West, Cindy Ray, Shawn Morris, Angie Holcombe, Sherry McRae, Tracey Simpson and Mary Kay Simpson; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by one son, Michael K. West; one son-in-law, Gene Mathis, one brother, Robert L. Jones, two sisters, Captolio Scruggs and Wilhelmina Jones, one great great grandchild and a special brother-in-law, Raymond Lee West who died recently. The family gives special thanks to Mrs. Annie Lawter for all of her visits and kindness and to the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their loving care and ministry.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:45 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman. The service will follow at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel conducted by Rev. Mark Williams and Mr. Bill Newman. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman.
