Mrs. Annie Spakes Fowler, 78, of 720 North Main St. died Thursday, February 4th, 2010 at Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC after a brief illness.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Inman, SC on May 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Joe William and Edith Estelle (Daugherty) Spakes. She was the widow of Broadus Gilmer Fowler and was the former co-owner/operator of Fowler's Floor Covering and Carpet. She also worked for many years operating Spake's Grocery Store in Inman.
She was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Spencer and her husband Terry of Inman, a son, Bruce Fowler and his wife Rhonda of Inman, SC, and two grandchildren, David and Christi Fowler both of Inman. She was predeceased by a son, Roger Fowler.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of Holston Creek Baptist Church with funeral services following at 3:00 PM conducted by Rev. Reggie Parker and Rev. Donnan Lawson. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at Joan and Terry Spencer's, 290 Gowan Rd., Inman, SC.
